Japanese loan keeps India’s freight network on track

Houston to upgrade to Tier 4 Advanced Powertrain Technology

The US Port of Houston Authority has authorised $500,000 for the Tier 4 Marine and Locomotive Advanced Powertrain Technology Programme that aims to substantially decrease air emissions from local marine and locomotive sources. Tier 4 technology will advance the Tier 3 standard and provide significant reductions in the amount of soot, nitrogen oxide and carbon emissions in diesel exhaust, compared with the current Tier 2 standard. New multimodal terminal for Le Havre

The Le Havre Port Authority has approved the construction of a multimodal terminal project. With an investment of €140m (US$182m) and supported by combined transport operators, the terminal will comprise two river berths each 200 m long, four gantry cranes with the possibly a fifth depending on traffic levels, a rail loading yard with eight tracks, a storage area and electrified railway sidings to accommodate mainline trains. Russia’s NCC shareholder dispute resolved
