Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company has ordered four rubber-tyred gantry cranes for its terminal in Damietta, Egypt.
The Kalmar E-One2 RTGs have been booked into the company’s fourth quarter order intake and will be delivered and operational some time in 2016, according to a statement.
Mika Virtanen, Kalmar’s vice president for RTG and ship-to shore cranes, said: “We are delighted to have gained this valuable order from a new RTG market for us. As terminal operators gear up for higher container throughput, our RTGs can deliver improved efficiency and cost reduction at various terminals around the globe.”
These RTGs have the capability of handling seven plus one wide, with one over five high stacking and a maximum lifting capacity of 41 tonnes.
The contract includes spare parts for operators and technicians as well as inspection services for the cranes.
