Container refrigeration equipment supplier Daikin Reefer has announced the opening of the first official parts supplier centre in the Middle East.
The new spare parts centre, which will have a specific focus on refrigerated container services, is located at Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai.
The centre will be managed by the company’s long-term partner and reefer servicing operator IRS International (IRSI).
Daikin Reefer said in a statement that “as the Middle East container market continues to grow, so too does the need for specialised repairers that are able to deliver an improved service”.
The new centre is expected to allow a rapid and localised spare parts service for countries including Egypt and Djibouti and those in the Middle East.
According to the company, shipping lines and repairers previously highlighted the need for a satellite parts centre to try to reduce delivery costs and improve the overall supply chain.
As Daikin added, the company hopes that the establishment of the new centre would be particularly welcomed by them.
Daikin Reefer’s president Shin Furuta said: “This is an exciting milestone for Daikin Reefer, as the Middle East is increasingly becoming a prominent container market.”
“As with our other regional spare parts centres, our Dubai centre will stock all the major spare parts used and will be able to make these available to customers quickly and efficiently when required,” he added.
