Paceco España has signed a contract with Gaudeloupe Port Caraïbes for the supply of one post-Panamax ship-to-shore (STS) crane.
The crane will especially be conceived to work under typically Caribbean weather conditions such as very high winds.
It is expected to be delivered in 2018 and will complete Port de Jarry terminal´s current equipment needs.
The container terminal in the insular region of France is located between the Caribbean and North Atlantic Sea and can serve as a crossing point for shipping routes from Europe, America and Asia.
Five container handling cranes are already functioning at this terminal serving 600 m of quay in order to handle 3.8m tonnes of goods per year.
The STS crane will be designed by Paceco’s engineering team and the construction will take place at its usual European manufacturing facilities.
It will be twin girder boom type design, with an outreach of 43 m to reach 16-18 rows vessels, a height under spreader of 33.10 m and a 15 m rail span.
The maximum lift capacity will be 60 tonnes under twin lift spreader.
