Tideworks’ cloud-based SaaS terminal operating system (TOS) CitadelMC has gone live at Crowley Maritime’s terminal in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The go-live represents the first part of a multi-phased TOS project, with the final phase expected to be completed at the end of the second quarter of 2017.
As part of phase one, the terminal went live with Tideworks’ Mainsail Vanguard core TOS and its GateVision gate operating system, which are both hosted under CitadelMC℠.
The remaining phases will take place in May and June this year with the implementation of Spinnaker Planning Management System and Traffic Control™.
This is aimed at supporting the introduction of Crowley’s new container/roll-on roll-off (ConRo) vessels on the service between Jacksonville and San Juan.
Tideworks is also providing Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities thanks to which the TOS would fail-over almost immediately in the event of a catastrophic event at the company’s primary data centre.
The DR facility is located in a geographically disparate region to ensure that Crowley’s terminals would continue to function.
Tideworks, which provided full support throughout the implementation, will continue providing ongoing maintenance and support services including 24/7 technical support and software upgrades.
The company’s TOS, which is also deployed at Crowley’s Port Everglades terminal since September 2016, is expected to go live at the operator’s terminal in Jackonsville, Florida, in June 2017.
Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks, said: “We’re confident our TOS solutions will give Crowley the tools they need to operate seamlessly and efficiently, ultimately leading to improved productivity and enhanced customer service.
“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Crowley as we prepare for the next implementations.”
