Kalmar has received its first order of Gloria reachstackers with K-Motion Technology from logistics company, Kunming Tianfu Logistics.
The Chinese company based in the Yunnan Province, specialises in logistics and transportation services and the new equipment will add to four existing Kalmar reachstackers that the company uses to support its growth in the railway transport business.
Li Yong, manager of Kunming Tianfu Logistics, said: “Efficiency is crucial in railway logistics where we need to meet the fixed train schedules.
“We are confident that [the K-Motion technology] can help us achieve significant cost savings and fuel reductions without compromising productivity.”
K-Motion provides smoother transitions in shifts, drive stops and direction changes by using a continuous variable transmission, allowing operators to drive more precisely.
Huang Jianghuo, area manager of Kalmar South China, said: “Kalmar K-Motion is a combination of well proven transmission technologies, hydrostatic and mechanical drives, combined with smart programming, intelligent controls and a small, but highly efficient engine.
This reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, giving reductions of up to 40% without compromising drive and lift power.”
Kalmar is part of Cargotec and the order was booked into Cargotec’s 2017 third quarter order intake with delivery scheduled on September 2017.
