French operator Bolloré Ports has implemented Navis’ N4 terminal operating system (TOS) at a terminal in south east India.
The integration of N4 at the Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT) at VO Chidambaranar Port is seen as the first step in global strategy to improve and streamline global operations at Bolloré Ports’ facilities.
The implementation follows an agreement between Bolloré Ports and Navis, with six more terminals set to apply the TOS.
Chuck Schneider, vice president and general manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa at Navis, said: “The continuous rise in shipping volumes and growing customer demand for real-time monitoring and updates, combined with increasing complexity across the ocean supply chain, has created a constant need to enhance terminal productivity.”
DGBT targets a throughput at high as 750,000 teu and has implemented Navis’ Autostow module on top of N4 in preparation for increases in container volumes in the near future.
