Boskalis wins €175m Mumbai deepening contract

Dutch dredging company Royal Boskalis Westminster (Boskalis) has been awarded a €175m (US$ 214m) contract by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) to deepen and widen the port and access channel of JNPT in Mumbai, India. PortMiami tunnel breakthrough

The tunnel-boring machine known as ‘Harriet’, has broken through at PortMiami, completing the first of two tunnels under Biscayne Bay linking the port with the mainland. Drilling of the US$1bn tunnel started in November last year, when the massive machine started drilling through a vertical concrete wall lining the construction pit in the centre of Watson Island.
