IAPH, which has 353 members drawn from 87 different countries, held a mid-term meeting in Mumbai, India on 9-12 April. M Terrier was elected to the vacant position created by the departure of the director of the Port of Marseilles, with support from Rotterdam, Antwerp and many other European and African ports. As a member of EXCO, he is expected to defend the interests of ports in general, and of those in Europe and Africa in particular, at international organisations such as the International Maritime Organisation and UNCTAD.
