COA marks 50 years of containers

Security issues figured prominently on the agenda, with two sessions devoted to container security, one examining policy and the other the latest technologies. There was also a series of keynote industry presentations, covering topics such as financing, flexitanks and insurance claims in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Reports on working group developments included issues as diverse as alternative floor systems and waterborne coatings, standard repair times, lease contracts and standard messaging systems. The event was rounded off with a gala dinner to celebrate the ‘50th Anniversary of Containerisation’.
