The US/South America service encompasses the ports of New York, Norfolk, Savannah and, in South America, the Brazilian ports of Rio Grande, Itajai and Santos. The trade route, which will be known as the ECAS service, commenced on July 25, 2006 with a northbound voyage by YM Santos, departing from Rio Grande.
The second service, known as ESA, calls at Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian and Singapore in Asia; Durban and Cape Town in South America; and Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Santos in South America. The weekly service commenced with the sailing of Ever General from Shanghai on July 30.
According to the agreements filed with the Federal Maritime Commission, the parties may vary the ports of call but the geographical scope will remain the same.
