The NASA service, operated in partnership with APL and Mitsui OSK Line, links the east coasts of the US and South America, and is projected to move 26,000 containers annually through the South Florida seaport. The first ship is scheduled to arrive on October 29.
“This is the second consecutive year Maersk has added a new service to Port Everglades, to further concentrate its Latin American business at this seaport. This move demonstrates the impact of South America and Central America in the South Florida marketplace,” said Port Everglades director Phillip Allen.
