The ship is one of six similar vessels deployed on the Hyper Galex service. Emirates Shipping Line provides four vessels for the service, while its partners TS Lines and the Shipping Corporation of India provide one apiece.
The service makes one eastbound and one westbound call weekly at Jurong, with a rotation of Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali and Cochin.
Emirates Shipping Line, which was founded in January 2006 and commenced operations only at the end of May, was voted ‘Best Emerging Company’ in two separate awards ceremonies recently: the Asia Logistics Awards in October and the Lloyd’s List Maritime Asia Awards in November. Jurong port has for the past four years been voted ‘Best Emerging Container Terminal Operator – Asia’ at the Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards.
