In total, the port handled 21.49m tonnes of cargo in the period January–November 2006, a 9.3% increase year-on-year. The biggest rates of growth were in bulk fertilisers (up 29.7%), ro-ro units (up 23.4%) and oil products (up 20.7%). There was an increase in the tonnage of vessels calling at the port, with 5.7% fewer vessels docking there, despite the 9.3% increase in throughput.
