The MV Prince of Tides opened the 2006-07 Chilean fruit season at the US Port of Wilmington on December 13 when it arrived at Berth 7 prepared to discharge a cargo of grapes, berries and stonefruit.

Wilmington kicks off Chilean fruit season

This winter Port officials are expecting the delivery of about 200,000 tons of Chilean fruit for distribution to markets in Canada and the US East Coast and Mid West. Wilmington is also a leading port of entry for fresh fruit and reefer cargo, including bananas.
