Marseilles container and cruise sectors shine

Cargo throughput at the Port of Marseilles-Fos to the end of November was marked by sustained growth in container and liquid bulks traffic. Flemish Minister-President Kris Peeters has launched the official start of the historic third deepening works of the River Westerschelde that will guarantee vessels a navigational depth of up to 13.10m (currently 11.5m). FANZL to be renamed Hamburg Süd

Hamburg Süd has announced that with effect from January 1, 2008 it will be replace the Fesco Australia New Zealand Liner Services (FANZL) with the Hamburg Süd brand and from that date the existing FANZL office in Seattle will assume responsibility as a Customer Service Centre for Hamburg Süd's customer activities on the US West Coast. Jasper Ocean Terminal agreement

The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) Board of Directors has unanimously approved an Intergovernmental Agreement for Development of the Jasper Ocean Terminal in which both Georgia and South Carolina will work cooperatively to develop a new port on the Savannah River in Jasper County. Read More »

New ZPMC Cranes for Bremerhaven

Bremerhaven’s MSC Gate terminal has just taken delivery of four new ZPMC container cranes. Each crane weighs around 2,000 tonnes, has a waterside outreach of 62.5 m and a lifting capacity of 97 tonnes when fully extended. A fifth ZPMC crane is scheduled for delivery in January 2008. Read More »
