“2006 marks the seventh consecutive year that our port has handled over half a million teu. EWL has increased its call frequency, moving to a weekly service, which is another positive sign for the Port of Halifax’s growth in 2007,” said Michael Cormier, vice president business development and customer relations at the Halifax Port Authority.
EWL began calling at Halifax in October 2006, the only North American port of call on its southbound service. The company is operating a fleet of five vessels on the Europe–Caribbean service with calls to ports such as Rotterdam, Hamburg, Felixstowe and Bilbao and connections throughout the West Indies and Central and South America.
