Latvian firm enters intermodal equipment market

In January 2007 EMR received approval from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping for the manufacture of ISO UN T50 tank containers for the storage and transportation of liquefied hydrocarbon gases. The design of these containers features EMR’s own exclusive patented equipment for the loading and discharge of liquefied gas.

EMR is also manufacturing roll trailers using standard rolled profiles and streamlined manufacturing techniques that reduce production costs and increase competitiveness. At present the company is capable of producing around 250 tank containers and 500 roll trailers of different types annually.

According to EMR, the company is well prepared to profit from the potential of the European power supply industry, considering the EU’s policy on establishing local liquefied gas terminals in member countries, creating internal power reserves and developing sea transportation through European ports using ro-ro vessels.
