EPIC service inaugurated at Felixstowe
A total of six vessels will be deployed on the new service, four provided by CMA CGM and one each by its partners Hamburg Süd and Hapag Lloyd. The service will run weekly out of Felixstowe and will take six weeks to complete its rotation of Rotterdam, Hamburg, Le Havre, Alexandria, Suez, Karachi, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Suez, Malta and Felixstowe. The CMA CGM Tulip will arrive back in the UK port on February 23.
“It is a source of great pride for us that the Port of Felixstowe has been chosen as the UK port of call for the EPIC 2 service. It will enhance and strengthen Felixstowe’s already extensive links with the fast-growing markets of the Middle East and India,” said Chris Lewis, CEO of Hutchison Ports (UK) Ltd, owner of the Port of Felixstowe.
