The Euromax Terminal, currently under construction, is claimed to be the most modern container terminal in the world and is set to become one of the most important European hubs. It will be used by all the shipping companies in the alliance, the world’s biggest. In its first phase, the high-performance, automated terminal will have a capacity of 2.3m teu a year. When Maasvlakte 2, the second phase of the development, comes on stream, capacity will ultimately rise to 5.6m teu.
Jan Westerhoud, president of ECT (part of the Hutchison Port Holdings Group), commented: “ECT and the CKYH Lines – each line individually as well as in its capacity as a member of CKYH – have a long-lasting and mutually beneficial working relationship. We are very happy to offer CKYH capacity in the short and long term at our new terminal.”
