RAM Spreaders recently launched its Flexilift headblock design which, it claims, brings new high standards of performance, control and versatility to twin 40ft/45ft container handling. During extensive trials, the RAM Flexilift achieved sixty 40ft container movements per hour in only its fourth operation.

The Flexilift’s innovative design uses hydraulic cylinders to position and adjust the headblock system, providing precise control and positioning of both spreaders and containers. As the two spreaders are separated or adjusted, the headblock sheaves and hoist ropes are always at the true centre above each spreader, explains the company.

To provide the new unit with maximum usable lift capacity, RAM Spreaders has also developed the RAM Model 2350, a new lightweight telescopic 40ft/45ft spreader. However, other RAM spreaders can also be fitted to the new RAM Flexilift headblock.

RAM reports a flurry of recent orders, including one for four RAM 2200 series overheight spreaders, designed to handle out-of-gauge freight, from Freeport, Grand Bahama.
