“During this period of close working partnership, PSA Muara has transferred operational knowledge and expertise to the Brunei Ports Department and has trained local port managers and workers to operate MCT efficiently and professionally,” said PSA Muara.
“Having achieved the objectives of training and knowledge transfer, and given the Brunei Ports Department’s plans to review the longer-term capacity needs of Muara Port, including the possibility of a major expansion of port facilities, [PSA Muara] has decided to hand the operations at MCT back to the Brunei Government.”
The company concluded: “PSA Muara looks forward to participating in future terminal operating opportunities that may be available once the longer-term vision of Muara Port is firmed up.”
