The ship forms part of CMA CGM’s new ‘Vasco’ service, which covers Brazilian ports to and from the Middle East and South Asia, and caters in particular to strong demand in the Middle East for South American refrigerated products.
The first call of the new direct service at KCT was marked by a presentation to the master, Captain Florian Moisa, and the terminal worked the ship in exemplary fashion, according to Gulftainer.
Peter Richards, Gulftainer director and general manager, commented: “We are really delighted with this new and direct service from South America using Khorfakkan as a distribution hub for the area. Clearly, judging by the volumes on the first sailing and the appetite in this region for South American products, the introduction of this new link will be a big success.”
