Portroe will implement the complete suite of Tideworks’ solutions, including its Mainsail, Terminal Management System, Spinnaker Planning Management System, Traffic Control, Forecast and Gate Vision. The integrated suite is designed to reduce overall operating costs and to increase productivity at the terminal by enhancing container visibility and improving inventory control and asset management.
“Portroe is at the forefront of technology and is investing heavily to ensure it has the broadest, most sophisticated resources available,” said Eamonn O’Reilly, the company’s CEO. “We chose Tideworks because it is a leader in the industry with proven, best-of-class solutions and an experienced team that truly understands our business and operational objectives. “
Portroe is undergoing a series of changes as it expands from its current volume of 200,000 teu a year to a projected 350,000 teu by 2008. Tideworks will work closely with other technology and equipment vendors (such as Liebherr) to ensure complete systems integration. The project will be implemented jointly by the company’s European headquarters in Spijkenisse, Rotterdam and its corporate HQ in Seattle.
