DP World ‘to consider partial floatation’

According to Times Online Business News, DP World has hired Deutsche Bank and Shuaa Capital, a Dubai-based investment house, to consider a partial float or refinancing. St Petersburg equipment order for Kalmar

Kalmar Industries has received an order from JSC Sea Port St Petersburg, Russia, for 24 machines for delivery between May and September this year. Kuehne + Nagel inks Hams Hall deal

Throughput and handling capacity at Hams Hall Railfreight Terminal are set to increase dramatically, following the signing of a new five-year agreement with Kuehne + Nagel Ltd. The agreement will see the Birmingham railfreight terminal handle approximately 180,000 deep-sea containers for Kuehne + Nagel between now and 2012, increasing throughput at the facility by 35%. Spanish RTG orders for Konecranes

Grupo Boluda Corporacion Maritima, a new customer for Konecranes, has ordered eight of the company’s rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, and Dragados SPL has placed a repeat order for six RTGs, for use by Maritima Valenciana in the Port of Valencia. The orders were made in March 2007 and the cranes will be delivered by January 2008. The total value of the orders is approximately €15m. Read More »

Strong Q1 performance for CSX

CSX Corporation has reported first quarter 2007 earnings of US$240m or 52 cents per share, including insurance recoveries of US$18m or 2 cents per share. Last year the company reported Q1 earnings of US$245m, or 53 cents per share. Read More »

Big orders for Kalmar equipment

Kalmar Industries has received orders for a total of 27 straddle carriers from ports in Germany. MSC Gate Bremerhaven and North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven have ordered ten and seven ESC440 W units respectively, while HHLA’s Container Terminal Burchardkai at the Port of Hamburg has ordered ten ESC350 W units. Record figures for PSA Group

The Singapore-based PSA Group handled a record 51.29m teu in 2006, up by 18.6% from the previous year. The surge in volume was attributed to organic growth at PSA’s existing terminals and to new port acquisitions. Read More »
