All-electric RTGs for Halterm
The state-of-the-art cranes, manufactured by Konecranes of Finland, operate on an all-electric system which makes them highly reliable in harsh marine conditions and requires little maintenance. The only hydraulics on the units are with the spreader.
The 1-over-5 units have a lifting height of 18.1 m and a loaded hoist speed of 31 m per minute. They are the first ever all-electric RTGs to be used at a container terminal in Canada.
