Grupo Boluda Corporacion Maritima is one of Spain’s largest Spanish maritime corporations and is involved in practically every aspect of maritime business. It is currently carrying out refurbishment works at its terminals in La Luz, Las Palmas and Sureste, Alicante. Five RTGs will be delivered to the La Luz terminal and three to Terminales MaritÃmas del Sureste.
Konecranes won the order based on its strong reputation in Spain, and on the strength of the electromechanical features of the RTGs, which reduce service costs and emissions. “Konecranes is now the leading supplier of RTGs to Spain and we look forward to a successful partnership with Grupo Boluda,” said Aku Lehtinen, director, RTG cranes.
Dragados SPL, a leading port and logistical operator, is continuing its expansion project at Maritima Valenciana to improve safety and increase productivity. It received its first Konecranes RTGs in 2005 and has since then made five repeat orders. The latest RTGs are equipped with eight wheels, have a lifting capacity of 50 tonnes and are capable of stacking containers one-over-five high and six plus truck lane wide.
