Since its listing on the Paris Stock exchange in summer 2006, French company Gaussin has built a strong financial situation, which it says will help it achieve its ambitious goal of becoming a world leader in the material handling solutions market, and particularly in the terminal trailer market. The company’s relationship with DP World goes back to the early 1980s, when it delivered its first terminal trailer. Since then, it has supplied many types of equipment to DP World terminals.
The new HW 45 ft/60T terminal trailers have been custom-designed for DP World’s operations at Jebel Ali, after DP World tested and approved two prototype models. They have a robust chassis especially designed to support a load of 60 tonnes with very low bending. This provides for stable loading and unloading of containers, in all environments but particularly in twin-lift operations. Gaussin will manufacture the trailers in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone.
Gaussin provides handling solutions worldwide for ports, terminals and intermodal facilities. It also has a presence in other industries, including automotive, steel, paper, airports, shipbuilding and nuclear. It offers a wide product range of industrial trailers and self-propelled vehicles for diverse applications, capable of handling loads from 1 to 500 tonnes.
