Bromma wins Korean order for 75 spreaders

“We have been committed to Korea for many years and being part of the continuing development of the Hanjin-controlled terminal at the Port of Pusan is very important to Bromma,” said Lars Fredin, Bromma Group vice-president of sales and marketing. “In 2004 Pusan Newport Company purchased 24 of our separating twin-lift spreaders for its high-throughput operations. This repeat order three years later is another vote of confidence.”

The ship-to-shore separating twin-lift is the company’s single most popular spreader model, with more than 240 units sold during 2006 (of a total of more than 900 crane spreaders). “Over the past year this spreader has been in particular demand at Asian ports, with the terminals at Shenzhen, Nansha, Dalian and Yangshan alone purchasing more than 50 Bromma separating twin-lifts,” said Fredin. Deliveries of the spreaders to ZPMC and Pusan Newport Company are slated to begin later in 2007.

In addition, Bromma has won a new order from China National for 18 Marathon all-electric spreaders for delivery to Bandar Abass, Iran. The Middle East continues to be an extremely strong market for Bromma. Other recent all-electric orders from the region include contracts for 18 Marathon spreaders to Saudi Arabia via crane OEM ZPMC, 14 to Yilport, Turkey via Mitsui and 10 to Marport, Turkey, via Gulf Piping.
