DP World to operate Dakar terminals
The Dakar Container Terminal currently has an annual throughput of 250,000 teu, which is expected to increase to 500,000 teu by 2010, once DP World’s upgrade is complete. In addition, DP World plans to spend €300m on designing and developing a new container terminal at Dakar, which it will also operate. The Port du Futur will have an annual throughput capacity of 1.5m teu when it becomes operational by 2011.
