The 70 km (43.5 mile) corridor links the Deltaport Container Terminal and the Westshore Coal Terminal to the rest of Canada and to the economic heartland of North America by way of the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia. The Roberts Bank terminal complex is owned by the Vancouver Port Authority (VPA).
Public and private partners will jointly invest a total of approximately C$300m (US$286.8m)for projects along the entire corridor, including nine grade separations. In addition, the railways will invest approximately C$60m (US$57.3m) in the corridor to provide additional capacity for anticipated growth. The federal government will invest up to C$75m (US$71.7m) in the project.
