In Germany, JSC TransContainer will provide full services using its own rolling stock and containers, according to Peter Baskakov, the company’s director general. It will also promote new container transportation routes. JSC RZD and Deutsche Bahn AG have signed an agreement on establishing a joint logistics company, the main aim of which, according to Mr. Baskakov, will be the development of export-import and transit routes between Germany and Russia.
“The plans also involve signing an agreement on establishing a triangular logistics company, with the participation of the Ministry of Railways of China. This will provide additional possibilities for closer cooperation between the railways of the three states, as well as for the development of Russia’s transit potential,” said Mr Baskakov.
The representative office in Latvia is JSC’s first in the Baltic States. The company plans eventually to establish a customer service centre that will provide a comprehensive range of container freight services.
