The Norshukon Link RoPax service will be implemented via an international competitive tender process in line with the requirements set out by the EU policy for its TEN-T ‘Motorways of the Sea’ initiative.
The Norshukon Link partners – Møregruppen (a company comprising local county and business interests in mid-Norway), the Shetland Development Trust (SDT) and the Shetland Transport Partnership (ZetTrans) – have joined forces to promote this initiative to the international ferry industry and to manage the tender process.
The tender will allow the Norshukon Link partners to identify and select partners with whom to submit a proposal in response to the Joint Call for TEN-T Motorways of the Sea projects, issued by the UK Department for Transport together with other EU member states and Norway. It is anticipated that responses to the tender will be received from consortia of shipping and transport operators.
