Konecranes buys Italian ports business

Technical Services was founded in 1998 and is based in Vado Ligure, close to Genoa in northwestern Italy. Its total sales in 2006 amounted to €1.8m. The two previous owners of the company and a workforce of 20 service professionals join the Konecranes organisation in Italy. Technical Services and Konecranes Italy have been cooperating for a number of years and this agreement is a natural continuation of this relationship, according to the Finnish company.

“This addition to the existing Konecranes service network further strengthens our position in Italy and the Mediterranean area,” said Trygve Boström, director, Ports Service at Konecranes. “Italy has a high and fast-growing container throughput in the Mediterranean area and Konecranes now adds one more base to support port equipment sales and serve customers in this area.”
