These super post-Panamax gantries, among the biggest in the world, are pre-equipped with a twin-lift mode that allows them to handle two 40 ft containers simultaneously, with an overall lifting capacity of 100 tonnes. With footings of 35 m and a unit load of 1,750 tonnes, the cranes can handle vessels 22 containers wide.
With the arrival of its quayside handling equipment, the Terminal Porte Océane is ready to start operations by the end of this year, at two berths located west of Terminal de France at Port 2000. Construction work on TPO’s back-up areas, begun in July 2006, is being completed under the project management of the Beture research bureau and the Port Autonome du Havre.
