Iran’s leading container port of Bandar Abbas reported an increase of 25% in container traffic for the first nine months of 2007, compared with the same period in 2006. More than 1,253,500 teu were handled up to the end of September at the port’s container terminal.

Volumes up 25% at Bandar Abbas

Phase I of a second terminal at Bandar Abbas is scheduled to open by early 2008, and will increase the port’s capacity to 3m teu. Phase II of the development will be operational in 2010, increasing total capacity to 6m teu.
