Go-ahead for Miami dredging project

On September 24 the US Senate approved a House-Senate conference report for the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2007, by a vote of 81–12. The Act, adopted by the House of Representatives in August, authorises a seven-year backlog of US Army Corps of Engineers programmes, including the Miami Harbour Phase III Dredging Project, which will deepen the Port’s South Channel from its current 42 ft to 50 ft. Landmark Eurogate order for Konecranes

Konecranes has received a major order from German container terminal and logistics company Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg GmbH, comprising ten straddle carriers for container handling and a service agreement for the warranty period. The straddle carriers will be delivered in February 2008. The total value of the order was not made public, but similar cranes are typically priced in the range €650,000–850,000. Read More »
