Northport, at Port Klang, Malaysia has been selected as the first Malaysian company to receive an international award for its role and contributions towards Corporate Social Responsibility by the Ansted University.

International award for Northport

The Ansted Social Responsibility International Award (ASRIA) & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Certification Ambassadorship Programme (CAP) has acknowledged the achievement of Northport in its CSR range of activities carried out.

Based on the “Northport CSR Project 2007” submitted by Northport, an independent panel of international judges evaluated the impact of the port’s CSR contributions on various stakeholders.

Northport’s CSR initiatives centred on:

Adopting Port Klang Project/Port Klang Citizenship Programme

Northport Business Safety Initiative

Life Long Education Programme

Employee Sustainability Programme

Community Technology Terminal Initiative

“These positive values have convinced ASRIA’s CSR-CAP Board to recognize Northport (Malaysia) Bhd’s employer and employee team efforts and kindness to share with society at large,” said Professor Dr Roger Haw, founder of the ASRIA Award at University Ansted.

The criteria for the ASRIA’s CSR-CAP recognition are based on merit and involve such aspects as uniqueness approach on social responsibility practice, fairness, social responsible innovation of strategic and practical administrative systems put into place, project sustainability, which have been proven and certified by reputable third party.
