Loaded container movements grew by 3.2% with imports essentially unchanged and export loads up 12.9% from their 2006 levels. In each case, 2007 exports and imports exceeded the averages for the five-year period 2002-06 by double-digit margins. Since 2000, the port’s containerised export traffic has grown by 63%. The export trade includes cotton, waste paper, scrap metal, animal feed, resins, and aircraft and automotive parts.
