The Tandem Quattro is an innovative, high-capacity spreader capable of lifting four 20 ft containers, two 40 ft containers or two 45 ft containers at a time. It has a lifting capacity of 2 x 51 tonnes or 4 x 32.5 tonnes, and weighs 24 tonnes, a full 7 tonnes lighter than the Tandem T45 model.
The Tandem Quattro can separate 20 ft containers longitudinally between 0 and 1.6 m, with a separating speed of 100 mm in 10 seconds and a skewing speed of 1 degree in 20 seconds. It has the ability to perform side shift on individual spreaders, which is especially useful when the chassis or container on the ground is not fully lined up, according to Bromma.
Long side flippers mounted on an inclined base and rounded end beams avoid jamming in cell guides. The four wagons can be moved individually to allow skewing and gravity point adjustment, should this be needed. Chain suspension allows the spreader to handle containers of different heights. Eight powerful flippers with large scoops in optimal configuration allow the unit to handle different combinations efficiently, points out the company.
