“The BPA was initiated as a means of communication between various entities that make up the port community – mariners, tugboat operators, ship repair agents, union and non-union personnel, as well as other maritime businesses. We meet monthly and discuss issues that affect our businesses and livelihoods,” continued Nixon.
With about 150 members, the BPA is a non-profit association whose mission is to improve the Port of Baltimore by creating a forum where information that affects the port community can be presented and acted upon in support of the members and the Port as a whole. The BPA was founded in the early 1980s.
