Freightliner orders two new Liebherr cranes

As part of a similar deal to the two Birmingham cranes on order, Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd, the leading manufacturer of container cranes in Europe, will soon begin production of a further two railhead gantry cranes. These are due for installation at Freightliner’s terminal in Trafford Park in spring 2009.

Peter Maybury, managing director of Freightliner Ltd, said: “Our terminal network and associated equipment clearly differentiates the Freightliner product from other rail-borne offerings in the market and is key to our position as market leader. It is therefore crucial that we continue to invest in our terminals, to ensure that our customers receive the highest standards possible, and these new cranes are evidence of this.”
