Sales in Europe, the company’s main market, reached 44 units, accounting for 50% of its business. The most important countries were Spain, with 14 cranes (16% of the total), followed by Turkey with nine (10%) and the UK, Italy and France with three cranes each. Latin America showed dynamic growth with 15 MHCs (17%) sold to customers in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Argentina and Costa Rica. Liebherr also delivered two cranes to North America.
Twelve MHCs were delivered to the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent. The best-performing countries in this region were Syria with four units, the United Arab Emirates with three and Kuwait with two. In Africa, 11 cranes (13% of the total) were sold to Tunisia (three units), Benin and Nigeria (two each), Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Namibia. The Far East and Pacific region also showed a good performance, with one order apiece from Indonesia, New Caledonia, Singapore and South Korea. With first-time sales to nine new countries in 2007, Liebherr mobile harbour cranes are now in operation in 81 countries around the world.
