On March 13, 2008, the Ital Laguna called at the Trieste Marine Terminal (TMT) on her first voyage from China. The vessel is the first of four similar 5,090 teu ships built in South Korea for deployment on the Far East–Adriatic service (ADR) that calls at Trieste on weekly basis.
The service has the following port rotation: Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Alexandria Dekhila, Taranto, Trieste, Koper, Rijeka, Taranto, Tanjung Pelepas, Shanghai.
