In his new position as general manager of global freight, Geiken will be responsible for developing international customer relations and services and expanding the company’s global freight business. Al-Futtaim is a leading logistics provider in the rapidly developing Arab region.
Geiken first worked in the Middle East for joint venture company Exel/Al-Futtaim in 2005–06. He began his career with Exel in Germany in 1995, where he worked for the company’s seafreight division in Bremen and Hamburg. In addition to serving as product director of Seafreight EMEA at IJS Global in Bremen, he contributed to building up a strong presence on the German market.
