Cargo volumes up 16% at Helsinki

The volume of containerised cargo increased by 2% and the volume of cargo transported by road vehicles grew by 18%. Container volumes reached 435,000 teu, while the number of lorries and trailers using the port totalled 550,000.

The total number of passengers passing through the port on scheduled ships was 8.5m, on a par with the previous year. The most popular passenger routes were the services between Helsinki and Tallinn, with 5.8m passengers, and to Stockholm, with 2.5m.
