The MSC Judith was on a Europe–Far East rotation starting from Valencia in Spain and passing through Gioia Tauro, Italy and Jebel Ali in Dubai before calling at Bandar Abbas. It then departed for Singapore, China and Hong Kong. It was followed in early March by two further vessels of more than 8,000 teu capacity, the MSC Baltic and the MSC Bilbao.

Bandar Abbas is operated by Tehran-based Tidewater Middle East Company, Iran’s leading container terminal operator, under the supervision of the Iranian Port and Shipping Organisation.
