Approximately €17m (US$26.8m) will be invested in research and development, with the remaining €4m (US$6.3m) being used to optimise the manufacturing process, including the creation of an additional 1,000 sq m manufacturing area at the plant.
Announcing the plans at the UK plant, Gordon Riske, chief executive officer of Linde Material Handling GmbH, said that the company expected to see global market growth of 30%–40% in the container handling segment over the next year, stating that it was a market the company wished to exploit.
