Kalmar launches new terminal tractor

Kalmar Industries has launched a new terminal tractor designed specifically to meet the operational requirements of European distribution centres. Compared with conventional over-the-road trucks, often used in distribution terminals, the new purpose-built TT612d terminal tractor can turn around trailers at least twice as quickly, according to the company.

Konecranes to expand its reach

Konecranes has received an order for 12 rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes from Spanish company MSC Terminal Valencia (MSC), a subsidiary of the Swiss-based MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company group. Long Beach unveils green expansion plan

The Board of Harbor Commissioners at the Port of Long Beach released a draft environmental impact report/environmental impact statement (EIR/EIS) for its Middle Harbor Redevelopment Project on May 19 for 45 days of public review and comment. The proposed US$750m, 10-year project will create about 14,000 new, permanent jobs (plus 1,000 construction jobs) and will cut air pollution at two port terminals by 50% or more from existing levels.
