Bertschi AG will use the terminal for the transport in and out of raw materials and end products for Dow Terneuzen and other regional customers. For the time being, this will involve one train a day to and from Ludwigshafen, one of Europe’s main rail freight hubs. From there, daily intermodal connections are available to Italy, East Germany, Poland, Russia and southeast Europe. Other parties will also use the terminal.

Valuepark Terneuzen is a joint venture between Dow Benelux and Zeeland Seaports. The aim of the business park is to achieve synergy between the chemical industry in Terneuzen and the related logistic services. Bertschi AG operates 42 subsidiaries in 22 European countries and in the Benelux area already has well-established subsidiaries at Antwerp, Moerdijk, Delfzijl and Rotterdam.
